CQuINS is an on-line tool supporting the quality improvement of cancer care through self assessment and peer review. Commissioned by the National Cancer Action Team, CQuINS has now been rolled out to all cancer networks and hospitals across England. With over 100,000 documents on-line, CQuINS also provides a vast repository of good practice and is actively used by hundreds of cancer care professionals as a key tool in managing the national cancer agenda.
CQuINS was runner-up in the National eHealth Innovation Awards 2005.
Manual of Cancer Services 2004 - 2007
The first Manual of Cancer Services was published by the Department of Health website at the beginning of July 2004. Using relatively new technology, the Mayden Team converted the draft manual from MS Word into XML format. This allowed rapid numbering and cross-referencing of the measures and the ability to make changes at short notice right up to the time of publication. The XML file also facilitates the presentation of the Manual in a variety of both electronic and printed formats (eg PDF, CSV) and directly feeds into the CQuINS on-line library of measures and the self assessment records. The manual is continually being updated as new measures are developed.

The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme was launched by the Department of Health in 2006. The programme seeks to deliver on the Government's 2005 General Election manifesto commitment to provide improved access to psychological therapies for people who require the help of mental health services. It also responds to service user's requests for more personalised services based around their individuals needs and will test the effectiveness of providing increases in evidence based psychological therapy services to people with 'common' mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Mayden Health is working with the national demonstration site at Newham to develop an innovative web-based information system to support psychotherapists in the day-to-day management of patients and to provide intelligent analysis of the resulting data.

The London Quality Assurance Reference Centre web site is a complete database driven site with no static pages. This allows the data on the site to be fully integrated so that related information such as diary dates, meetings, documents, links, news, job vacancies etc can all be pulled together onto a single web page if required. The London QARC site is probably the most integrated on-line content management system being used in the NHS today but the infrastructure can be replicated and used for any other organisation for only a fraction of the cost of developing a new site.
Healthy Curiosity
Currently under development, the Healthy Curiosity site will allow people suffering from a range of chronic conditions to monitor the progress of their disease and to exchange experiences of different lifestyle changes (eg diet, exercise etc) and treatments (including drug regimes). By developing a "bank" of data from individuals, the Healthy Curiosity site will build into an invaluable repository of collective experience which other sufferers can use to support their own decisions about managing their disease.
